Blog posts are updated as new information comes to light. Here are details of the updates made to previously published posts each month.
Loudwater’s lost pubs, and hopes for a revival was updated on 3 March 2026 to include new information about the ownership of the Halfway House. There is also new information about the site of the Star beerhouse.
The pubs of Bird in Hand and Wycombe’s west end was updated on 10 March 2026 to include a map of Bird in Hand, a correction to information about beerhouses, some information about a short-lived beerhouse, the modernisation of the Bird in Hand and White Horse, and additional sources used.
Pubs of Newland part one – the beginning to 1872 was updated on 18 November to include new information about the Sun and the Live & Let Live.
Wycombe Marsh part 2 had a new photograph of the Disraeli Arms added on 19 November, courtesy of Carmel Grace.
Wycombe Marsh – Part 1 The London Road was updated on 7 August to include the year (1937) the King George V was rebuilt.
A pub walk through Flackwell Heath was also updated on 7 and 22 August to include more information (taken from the Bucks Free Press Archive) about the Cherry Tree’s sale, renaming and subsequent ownership, and also about the Magpie.

Loudwater’s lost pubs, and hopes for a revival was updated on 25 July. The release of the Bucks Free Press archive in May 2025 has provided some useful information about the Happy Union’s licensing arrangements and ownership.
Wycombe Marsh part 2 was also updated on 25 July using new information from the Bucks Free Press archive about an 1867 version of the Swan and the precise location of the Dolphin.
